1990年の2〜3月にかけてコンサートで散財した人は、全国で相当の数に及んだはずである。なんたって、Stones、Paulと、70〜80年代にかけて麻薬関係でつぶれて涙を飲んだライブが2つも実現したんだから。両方とも知らない人は誰もいないほどのビッグネームで、しかも単価がべらぼうに高い。筆者もABWHのほぼ全日程分も合わせ、全部で10万円くらい突っ込んだと記憶している。まぁ、家族を連れて行ったというのもあるんだけど。当時はまだ20代で薄給の身。なかなかサイフには厳しかったのである。

とはいえ、“Abbey Road”片面全部やる、とあれば行かないわけにはいくまい。それに76年にリリースされた“Wings U.S.A Live”はとても好きなアルバムだったので、やっぱり行ってよかった。オープニングから総立ち。みんな歌いまくり。“Live and Let Die”では花火が爆発しまくるなど、お祭り騒ぎを大いに満喫したのである。

このときはまだLindaはご存命だったんですねぇ。
